If sequels are supposed to one up the last movie then this surpasses not only tom holland’s Previous, but to Tobey Maguire’s and for sure garfields. Sadly too much was given away when it was released as well as the Villains in the trailer. Not to mention The wasn’t even a NEW villain for the movie itself. Comedic yeah but still I should have felt it to be a 9 or 10 and for me it feels more like a 7 as in a lack of anything impressive or letter grade, say a B-

This is not only a review of the new movie but of the franchise as They came out well before I had a blog.
Being as The new Movie was going to be on HBO Max for a limited time, I was lucky enough that they had the first 3 movies as well. So I wanted to rewatch them as I don’t remember much. With the re-watch I know why. Honestly the first movie was great back then but on the re-watch of them… Some of the visual effects are starting to get dated. Some worse than others.

While I was looking after my Aunt’s house in July I started my Netflix summer vacation. Trying to binge as many of the original shows and some movies as possible. I still have many others (like some of the Marvel series to watch but I’m not going to get through everything by the first week of October. I thought I’d also re-watch the first 3 seasons of American Horror Story, as Season 8 deals with Murder house & Coven. Also watched the first 3 seasons of Goosebumps (a show I enjoyed in my teens, I’ll be working on a classic Cuts for that)
I’ve temporarily canceled streaming as the regular fall shows are starting to come back will pick up watching the rest during the holiday hiatus so I don’t have to deal with all those holiday repeats. Speaking of which, I always wonders…..WHY are there not more Jewish, Kwanzaa, Yule/solstice stories? And WHY are those that celebrate these (and others that are not Christmas) not making a big fuss of not having their own holiday entertainment?

So we start with an inbound spaceship breaking up on re-entry and falls in I think it was Malaysia. Some how one astronaut survives or seems so. Set in San Francisco Eddie Brock for those of you that do not know the comics (which I don’t) is a reporter and does ‘The Brock Report’. He does investigative journalism and tries to get the story no matter what. Well that one hunch and one mistake (and reason to NEVER give, even those you trust your passwords DON’T DO IT!)

Valkyrie.. first of all… Valkyries have wings (where the Christians got angels from) Director Taika Waititi wants
to make it clear that racial diversity in his cast was not the primary goal. “I’m not obsessed with the idea that you cast someone just to tick a box. You should cast people because they are talented”. (and with that I give my respect! as I have always felt the same.) “with Valkyrie, I wanted to make sure we weren’t making a female character that was boring and pretty. What I wanted was someone who was going to play the opposite and be even more the ‘guy’ character than the guys. Ultimately I thought Tessa was the best person we found. *Honestly… aside from her work on Vikings…. Katheryn Winnick would have been better, (She’s Blond, pretty but definitely not boring, she has her own martial arts school(s) and her character on Vikings is a kick-ass shield-maiden. (which all that martial arts helped her get the role) In my belief, when shield-maidens die, they become Valkyries. One day in researching the Valkyries of the Norse, I found there is one with the name Lagertha!
