Found this in a Dollar Tree bin. Thought it would be an interesting, mindless summer fun watch.

In the Village of Liverpool…. but somewhere in the U.s. as I don’t hear any form of an English accent

Roosevelt is getting back in the dating game, and there’s a sitter for the son who looks too old for one (is he in High School? or just really tall for his age?) He he wants the light on in his dads room and the sitter says he’s a bit old for a nightlight but “I’ve been hearing Noises”

What a coincidence, the sitter is also reading Moby Dick. Puts down that epic 600_ page tome and goes up to the bathroom with the cliff Notes (why not just read the book up there?) The bathroom scene is a bit funny though. Not funny lMAO but more a chuckle to yourself sort.

The acting is comical when the father comes home, and not only was his date a horror but comes home to one as well.\

He won’t go back in the house and won’t let the Real Estate agent show it, to sell it.

There’s a little Jaws rip off with the father and son, but this is not a cute, heart warming moment as in Jaws 1. This one is just stupid and unneeded.

Later I see something about Syracuse on a building (liBrary?) then he types in Sharks attacks in Syracuse, NY… Hey I’ve been up there. Went to a few AHL Games.

Possible buyers are attacked and now everyone says He’s right and believes him…

Can we get a better script writer though? Or maybe Director

2nd Jaws rip off… was sort of funny, If it weren’t for the guy in the scene, I might have thought it was really the girl from Jaws and she had found a fountain of youth.

WTF is the point of (is it) Squanto? Throwing Roosevelt around the yard.

there’s a difference when you speak and the movements you naturally make body and hand gestures while talking. The ones in this seem awkward to me. Badly directed, written or acted Can’t pin point which.

T mistakes… That shark costume, puppet whatever … IS AWEFUL in every sort of way. So whatever FX you want to call that… Is there anything lower than an F-

The movie is somewhat amusing if you can take the overall crapshow that it is and well I’d imagine that maybe for those who do drugs, it might seem better.

Wait it was cheaper for BAD CG WaterFX than to do a practical Water tank shot?

Ii just can’t give it a grade I’m having too much fun making fun of it… but definitely NOT a keeper. I think I bought this during sharkweek or sharkfest whatever so I was in the mood. But I know I can do better make up FX with stuff around the house than whoever made that P.O.S.

Just saw wires on the gun I hope these ‘Faux pas’ were supposed to be seen and be this bad if so other it gets an A+ if Not… well maybe you’ll have more fun making fun of it as I did than really being into it. (hey maybe the more the merrier.

This was a half hour too long that’s for sure.

Din is longing for his childhood friend to try to reconnect with her. Her father, a businessman moved away with her about 10 years ago when she was still a child. Now, successful, her father is never around and she’s on a billboard advertisement. Din visits this billboard often

Din, while making a delivery, ends up with a jade tea pot containing the wish dragon. Basically its the Genie in the lamp sort of story. Many centuries ago someone did something so bad, instead of a heaven or hell they are punished by eternal servitude of granting wishes.

I just want to know why the CG dragon looks more like cotton candy woven into a plush toy, and not a “DRAGON” even a non menacing one, but with scales.

Its a cute movie, and morals and all that but I feel it lacks something I just can’t seem to nail what it is.

after a mining ‘accident’ The town of Shookum hills “disappeared”

A group of scientists goes to Investigate, one’s Research says its Not a mine but supposed to be a well to hell, and there’s Some creature in the mine

The group finds the area surrounded with an electric fence, for which there seems no reason. They smell sulfur around pit area , When they were in a safe house I noticed there’s drawings of what the creatures look like, one of a scout and something else. You barely get to see the creatures and when u do the scene is in a haze but from what I saw reminds me of the demons from that 80s movie The Gate in a way, or maybe lamprey at least the mouth and stock of maybe a golum

Love the colors and decor of the palace. Set dressings are great tho the kings crown looks made by a kindergarten class. The wall.decor over his bed and just wow the presentation of his future Queen If it didn’t scare him scared me the way they came out The women’s  Traditional African dress (sorry can’t recall what they are called)are beautiful and many colorful ones I’d like to see in person or try Named an elephant babar.

Going to queens to find a queen…in the most common part The barbers..saw the preview for new movie and had to.ask dad if they were eddy and arsenio (as until today I have never seen f the movie other than one or two scenes and the barbers never did i was having a sip of a drink and The part with them walking into an apt came on & made me … spit it out in laughter. how many parts.are the 2 of them.playing?!?! You can’t beat 80s comedy…I thought this was going to be too dated but aside from some 80s styles it wasn’t (though there was that one girls pair of earring that belonged on birthday gifts. It reminded me of those pre curled ribbon decorations… How her ear lobes were not hanging down to her boobs is beyond me

The king is on his deathbed and decides he wants to have his funeral (wake) before he dies. Its a grand gala with En Vogue Salt n Pepa and Gladys Knight cameos.

Akeem, now king has 3 daughters one of which has been training all her life to take the throne. But this is a patriarchal society. Akeem gets what I call the King’s curse, where they forget how they got there, and that they are forcing the B.s. politics on their children when he broke those rules in his day. His kingdom is in danger when General izzy shows up to arrange a marriage between his and Akeem’s eldest.

When Akeem he finds out he has a son, he returns to America to get to know him, however the son Levelle will not leave without his mother, played by the way too loud Leslie Jones.  (when she came on screen I was about to shut it off I just can’t stand her!)

Akeem plans to teach Lavell  the royal ways, including arranging a marriage with General Izzy’s daughter. Lavelle however fancies his hair dresser. So that tells you Like father like son.

This wasn’t too bad for a how many years later sequel, even though its basically (technically)  a remake of the original just wish someone else. Its both sequel and a remake in my view. It follows the same formula as the first one only Akeem is already royalty and a prince, he was looking for a bride. But now its his bastard son who is going through it all. (Too bad you can’t let the son and first daughter marry like they used to back in the days, then things would be solved. But any kids they have could end up being deformed, or end up mad.)

I enjoyed the movie, I was a bit skeptical to watch it the only thing (as previously mentioned) I didn’t like about it was Leslie Jones having a part. She just isn’t funny to me, she feels like she’s forcing it. (and that doesn’t even count that she’s always so~o loud. She’s that person in the movie theater that gets kicked out for disturbing the other viewers.

Kingdom: Ashin of the North

2021 foreign, horror, 1:33

This special ‘episode’ (more like movie) is a build-up narrative of the back story of both the origin of the resurrection plant and the mystery behind Ashin’s identity.

The plot presents the sufferings and pains of Ashin and how they resulted in her dark vengeance against the people who caused the suffering.

The beginning starts something about a war or something, was trying to read the subtitles and write my notes but that didn’t work out. Basically there’s something about those that have lived in jureon (sp?) all their lives are still shunned by the locals.

Then there’s the deer (def. CG) eating in the forest and sees the resurrection plant. I forget if its those little white things under the leaves that is what makes one resurrect. Due to how it was used in the main show with the dying or already dead emperor, I was surprised at the effect it had on the deer (which although it was a fake one, I still wasn’t happy with what I saw, It dies and comes back. No matter what fake or real animal Ii don’t like seeing them suffer.

The first half of the story focuses on a young Ashin and the build-up of her story with her father, and their village.

This story was a bit easier to follow than the show. I’m still trying to work out ways to explain the plot of the first season of the series. (as well as the 2nd without giving anything away)

Going into watching it, I’m skeptical, but the trailer looks decent. 

28 Years earlier in 2022 during a Christmas party Chris Pratt returns from a Grocery run and gets bad news about some job. He a military veteran, and was a squad leader on a special ops force in Afghanistan now a teacher at (I think it was) a High school, otherwise a college. His wife works with wounded soldiers of which only 30% of draftees of this war return. a GLOBAL draft
