While Supergirl was on CBS, the only episode I watched was the Flash crossover. being as I watch Flash I figured it might be a good idea to watch in case something carries over from the Supergirl episode. With this one episode..

To me in the coming attractions and even this one episode I really could not stand the actress that played Supergirl,to me she came off as insecure/self conscious and there was something else I  still can’t quite pinpoint what it is or was, I could barely watch crossover episode, even with Flash in it.  Also I wasn’t crazy about the overall pace and storyline of the cross over.

So maybe others felt the same way as I in one way or another, and so with the show

Now on the CW for season 2, I thought I’d give it a try (well when its posted to the free on demand channel)

I still can’t figure out why CBS had the show in the first place, especially when all the DC comics shows are doing so well on the CW.

before I get to Supergirl herself  I will say I definitely did not like the actor portraying Superman…in this. I do wish ‘Smallville’ would make an appearance in some way ..sorry I should say Tom Welling and anyone else from that show, After all, this is a multi-earth/dimension universe. Well so far no ‘Smallville’ but we get Dean Cain!!!

So far she still comes off as… maybe its not insecurity but awkward to me and that’s WHEN she’s Supergirl. This is even as I finish writing this up in March (of season 2 with the finale likely to air in May). I would think the ‘Awkward’ and anything I didn’t like about a character or actor would have subsided by now. I do in a sense like the actress, she’s cute Kara wise, even when she’s perky and I hate perky but for her it works. There is still a little something there that bothers me when she’s Supergirl. I will also say the show is a lot easier to watch than when it was on  CBS.

Well if I didn’t watch it before or skipped an episode here and there… I’ve been making sure  I watch each week now that the charming Chris Wood (Vampire Diaries, Containment) in blatant CW fashion has yet again recycled (or is it re-purposed) him into another CW show. For him I’ll watch and see how his story arc goes. Plus I’m waiting for more crossovers of the collective shows…

I heard something about a possible musical but I don’t recall if it was flash and supergirl (which sounds really annoying to me) or maybe the crossover (nope… thankfully)… but I think a musical episode would have been better with Arrow (as long as John Barrowman was in it)

I do hope we get a mini movie with all the heroes in one show (one epiosde) at some point…maybe a 2 hour TV movie special. That would work well as a follow up on (or lead up to) a crossover story or the best way is to finish a season, and even better use for a series finale!

Hello @CW @DC do you hear me!!!! I’ve got some ideas for your show(s)!!! Make.It. Happen.!!!!

(Can we make the #ArrowMusical happen?  I saw @Stephen Amell & @JohnBarrowman singing at SDCC   (San Diego Comic Con)…

Definately IMPROVED (and saved)

BBC  S1.

Reluctant psychic/medium Alison who is burdened by her gift, butts heads with a psychology teacher (and former therapist) who is ‘treating’ her. Alison challenges his skepticism. He and some of his students sit in on some psychic symposium thing and Alison sees someone near one of his students, which is the little girl we see in the beginning.

Disk 1

In  More than meets the eye  a psychology class sits in on some psychic gathering. Where the reluctant Alison though refuses to come to at first, shows up. She picks out one of the students who is obviously freaked out, (as the psychic was spot on) and the student nose dives from there.

Lower than bones    Love the way it sounds, so suffice it to say it’s  my favorite title of the three. Alison helps a missing girl’s family.

Daniel one and two   This was the best of the three on the disk. It was a suspenseful mystery. Is Daniel being haunted or is he just delusional?

Disk 2

I didn’t list them but I think the first disk of episodes were most memorable.

The last episode on this disk still haunts my memory.  The episode alone is haunting, is she seeing the living or the spirits? We learn a bit more of her Train accident. Has she been dead this whole time?  It’s an interesting Drama but I think it only lasted for the 6 episodes.

American Horror Story season 6 – Roanoke

So the Emmy and Golden Globe Award winning Horror Anthology is back for a sixth season, here I will recap past seasons and (with a lack of information) try to preview the new season (I will also review it here as well as the season goes on.

The series is produced by Ryan Murphy and Brad Falchuck  there’s no chance in the show getting in a rut, as every season is a new story; which I love! Plus some actors return and others do not so we get some fresh blood err life back into the show.

1- Murder House  (I keep calling it Hell House, maybe because of a book of short ghost stories I have)

2-  AsylumBinge worthy

3- Coven

4-Freak Show

6-  ?  Harvest, Mist, Autumn, Croatoan

So far I think my favorite has been the Murder House, with Coven or Hotel Though Not sure if I like Coven or Hotel more so they are tied for 2nd right now.  Asylum I wasn’t crazy about I kept falling asleep while watching it or forgetting it was on altogether! That was the only one I had a problem with. Coven I enjoyed… If it’s Witches or Vampires I’m there! So when hotel was announced and what it was about I was like YES! Vampires!! Even if it wasn’t in the literal fang faced sense. I wasn’t even upset that Matt Bomber didn’t get to don fangs! Freak show was a good story as well and I was never bored. If there is a series that is binge worthy, this one certainly is this!

A lot of mystery surrounds season 6 with its promotional imagery, using only a question mark and a 6. So what could this mean? as the 6 and question mark are one.

There are a few theories that the promos either have nothing to do with the season or some are to throw us off of what it’s about. One idea I’ve seen for what the season  is about is the Roanoke colony that disappeared, (All the people etc ) seemingly overnight.

If that is it, (and with the promo images included) the season might end up titled ‘Harvest’, especially if you look at the grass (or is it a wheat field) in the picture on the left, as well as the hand sickle in the one on the right.  There’s also a few other images I’ve seen with a creature, another with 3 shadowy people with glowing yellow eyes. Then there are my favorite promos which look like Universal Pictures gothic horror movie classics like Dracula, Frankenstein etc. Or maybe there are aliens? Maybe it’s all of these in one season… Though I think the main theme has something to do with the picture on the right of the 3 as there’s 2-3 trailers (I’ve seen) with something of a ‘wind chime’  look as that does (and that one looks like it belongs in the Texas Chain Saw Massacre House) .

I’m pretty sure Lady Gaga & Angela Bassette will be returning as for others from last and past seasons, I have yet to hear anything. I wonder if there’s any chance Jessica Lange will come back for another season, if not this one.

Will season 6 be linked with any other previous season in some way, could it be in the present, i’m guessing Past as the first 5 seasons went from present time then past So seasons two and four take place in the past while one, three and five are all present time. I wonder if there will ever be a season or 2 that will be set in the future.

I recently came across this article where the ‘theme’ may have accidentally been leaked  and looking at some of the promo pictures aside from the Tv Guide print, that could also be the case for the season’s title, as there seems to be smoke, mist or just a bright ‘void’ in some of the promotional videos and pictures.  To me, however that really does not sound like an AHS title though.

Then there’s this article, I came across yesterday and I think it said you can see all the promos in the trailer shown in the article.

Lady Gaga Reveals That The ‘American Horror Story’ Season 6 Trailers Are A ‘Perfect Illusion’

Whatever the season is about, I am sure as fans we will all love it. It’s a new show every years and one of the reasons why it’s still on. are there any other Anthology shows out there? (and I remember the end of last season the Falchuk & Co wanted to do 2 a year the usual fall season  &  one for spring/summer. I just have 2 words to say… YES PLEASE!

So episode one came and went and I’m not all too happy with American Horror story this year as far as the first episode goes. I figured the Roanoke thing was going to be the story, but I am not happy with how they are telling the story this year.

The eyewitness account type ‘paranormal show’ (like how Paranormal witness re-enacts the story and has the actual people talk about it in between) . Why do you have to stoop to telling the story that way, instead of as it’s been?  Why not have the couple be brought back in time, or the old colony be brought back (maybe it’s the time of year they disappeared) and is haunting the couple as the house is on their land.  This season however in a sense you could say is not just a story in the present, but also past as well.  Now I have not sure if you could say a problem, but as I have read the below article and even before this, always thought that something like the colony having gotten sick, and other’s leaving because of that reason. Whatever it truly was (regardless of what the historians thing they figured out…. unless someone finds that spot and does a seance I don’t think we’ll ever truely know.

The Subversive spectacle of this edgy manly menagerie of the Cody crime family is set this time in seaside So Cal (South California). The crowded house, the usually seems more like a Frat house is  run by mama known as ‘Smurf’. When Josh’s drug addict mother dies of an OD Grandma Smurf takes him in, of course with  his (spoiled?) Uncles’ disapproval as he is an outsider to them. They take advantage especially, Pope who take him on a few ‘jobs’.

Thankfully ‘J’ as he’s now called seems like a sweet kid, compared to his testosterone driven uncles (especially Craig.. really man you have to walk around butt freaking naked in, I think about every episode of at least the first six?  but hey… I won’t deny it… Nice ass!)  They are all loose cannons, in their own respect, but well Baz who has a wife and kid seems more laid back and smarter than the others.

reading an review in Tv guide  or maybe it was Entertainment weekly, they mentioned & I quote…

“The Cody clan  may as well be thought of as the Surfer Dudes of Anarchy”Binge worthy

I can’t think of an argument against that! Though I’ve also seen it mentioned as the ‘SoCal Sopranos’

The show is based on the 2010 movie of the same name from Australia which starred Joel Edgerton and a pre Blindspot Sullivan Stapleton,  provides the source material; inspired by the real life account of the Pettingill family of Melbourne Australia

Scream season 2

Willa Fitzgerald, Bex Taylor-Klaus, John Karna, Amadeus Serafini , Carlson Young, IMDB

The new season of Scream is here with a new mystery to solve. Did you figure out the last one Scooby gang?

Well I had the killer in my suspect list, so now the question is who is Piper’s accomplice?

For me last seasons most memorable moment and mutilation was   Emma’s ex-boyfriend.

So to start off this preview / review

Here’s a vid of ‘Jake’ and the first 7 minutes of season 2  episode 1

Season Premiere (haven’t read so there might be spoilers one picture definitely is)

So enough with the B.S. or should I say knife and ice pick play… on with the review

After the events of last season with the ending on the dock, Emma… as someone put it “went a little bonkers”.  She’s coming back home and the group is throwing her a welcome home party.  For the first scare I’ll just say Audrey is working, but is getting creepy texts. So our ‘Lakewood 6’  characters are in danger again and I’m guessing this time there are no rules.

Some dumb kids play a prank on Audrey  the town hero  by dressing up as the killer in the mask and cloak and make a play to act like they are going to kill her; (what dumb asses, PTSD people you don’t want to mess with those that have it!) They must think that she’s not going to bust a move and grab something pointy or blunt to defend herself with?  Hey numb nuts.. you deserved to be stabbed… more so get a lobotomy! That’s not a prank, its just asking for trouble!

30-33 minutes in While they are in Psych class

“Dreams are the psyche dealing with our problems”

Does the dream analysis fall under the id or ego?

That dream stuff, I’m guessing we are going to have some sort of Nightmare on Elm street theme to this season. They’re severely taunting Audrey, so is Piper back some how or is it , someone we know and love or maybe one of the creepy new kids?

Kiran’s creepy Cousin Eli,  The New cop’s son Gustavo,  Noah’s sweetie Zoe or the psych teacher? Or could it just be Audrey as she seems to be the accomplice from last season burning letters, and anything to cover it up. I’ve gotten bad vibes from Eli & Gustavo but I think Eli is creepier so I will go with him as my #1 choice for slasher! As for a choice of character from last year has Emma really flipped and is now subconsciously killing off her friends? Is someone just trying to frame her?  Will it be someone we are fond of as fans as in Noah or if looks cool kill eye candy Kiran?

There was also a ‘Scream After Dark’ show which is a half hour, I think I’ve only caught it 2x. The intro credits are cheesy (but funny) and made to look like an old sitcom. Host Jeffery, I’m not digging so far.  They have interviews with those who get killed off the show. So I’ll have to start watching these but I don’t think they come on right after the show. Also jeers to MTv for not re-airing the episode from the same night another hour or 2 later. There’s some goofy bits and others that I just had to roll my eyes at.

As to who the culprit  is this time,  I’ll never tell! BUT I was surprised

Megan Ketch, Justin Chatwin, Juliet Rylance, Antony Starr, Virginia Madsen

set in Boston 14 years after the Silver bells Killer reign from 1999-2000.

WOAH! That house, I love that blue and the set design, I think I felt my eye grow 3x bigger!

The couple who is driving and talking about visiting the woman’s family, well the way it was filmed I thought they were the ones in the bridge collapse; a few minutes later they arrive at the house? Nah.. had to just have looked that way.. cause those people either have had to die or severely injured at least

The secret of what character committed the crime has been kept from the cast in which the actors and crew have made bets to whodunit.

-a belt is found in the rubble

-During a press conference the Patriarch has a heart attack

-Tessa (sister #2) and Cam find a box of silver bells and news clippings in the shed.

-Alison’s daughters were under the hospital bed when Garrett tells his father something. They tell their mother that he said “I’m gonna tell them it was you”

-Mother takes box of bells “They’re gone. I had Gunther get rid of the stuff from the shed”

-Father was always into true crime stories

-DNA test  (sorry NOT revealing if positive or not of the family’s)

Introducing the Hawthorn clan

Cam Hawthorrn (played by Justin Chatwin) – recovering addict cartoonist is the family’s scapegoat. He’s estranged from wife Sophie (played by Stephanie Leonidas) their son Jack (played by Gaberiel Bateman)has short and long term memory loss. Saw a shrink as a kid and has hallucinations, and things start to come back. In an old photo is wearing the belt in question. Could Cam be the SBK?

Sophie– Cam’s drug addled wife (or ex)

Jack Hawthorn– has a talent for drawing like his daddy, but wants to be a mortician and draws various deaths. As creepy and morbid as I can be, this kid creeps me the hell out! He doesn’t need a shrink, he needs a wing of the local asylum (or a seat with the suicide squad). He starts showing some serious psychopathic behavior ie: experimenting on cutting a cats tail off just to see something with the nerves. The Grandmother finally tells Cam just that.  So at the shrink’s  The shrink they get him, after I think it was just one session tells his parents she can’t see him anymore; Cam then says “our son has been fired by his therapist”  If you have a good dark sense of humor, be ready to utter a few uncomfortable laughs, when this kid is around.

Tessa Ross (Megan Ketch) The Youngest of the Hawthrone clan at 27 is the peacemaker and moral voice of the family, she’s married to detective Brady Ross (Elliot Knight) who may benefit from solving the case. Had nightmares as a kid and suffers anxiety, and possibly starts to unravel at the seams?

Alison Hawthorne-Price – (Juliet Rylance)  power seeking council woman campaigning to become mayor . Remembers family life before they became millionaires and needs to make up for the fact her parents gave her everything. she compartmentalizes  her life which is psychologically interesting in terms of someone who is able to commit horrific crimes. Has 2 daughters Halley & didn’t catch the other’s name.

Garrett Hawthorne-(Antony Starr The eldest child disappeared 14 years ago and returns after his father’s health scare. He looks like a lumberjack and kinda scary looking when he first arrives so it wouldn’t be a surprise if he was the killer. Could he be the culprit? He’s not confortablke being back it. The family is curious and terrified at the same time with what information he may or not have. Reads lots of books, was living in Maine

Madeline Hawthorne-(Virginia Madsen)  The now widow is both protective and manipulative at the same time. She had some creepy vibes of her own but I can’t place why yet. Gerrett re-appearing has led to a few dark mother son moments. COuld she be physically strong enough to strangle six people? Finally mama H tells Cam the boy needs therapy!~

Mitchell Hawthorne – (Jamey Sheridan) During the press conference, seems to be a little uncomfortable when talk of the Silver Bells killer comes up. He ‘faints’ which ultimately was actually a heart attack. Owns a construction company that build previously mentioned bridge that collapsed (but how long ago was it built?) that belt was found in. Was into True Crime, watched unsolved Mysteries religiously. The mother said he hobby tok control and he got dimentia. He told her “Mary, I think I’m a bad guy” when he found the S.B.K. box of clippings.

Gunther The Gardener- creepy, grouchy and     the boy.  Mama Hawthorne noticed he’s become weirder lately. Had access to the belt in question. Tells the younger daughter that he was playing chess with her father still just the week before, meanwhile her mother says her father as basically in the stages of Dementia (he didn’t look that old).

Brady Ross (Elliot Knight)- Detective who oddly enough is actually working on the case even though his step family is involved… Conflict of interest anyone? However just as I thought that this past episode (July 20th) wouldn’t ya know just as they were thinking of taking him off the case, someone else thinks being he has an in to keep him on it. Not sure how I feel about him yet, sure the family is in a way both the Protagonist as well as antagonist if one of them really is the killer

My initial Suspects

The Father– but he’s the obvious choice right?

Gerret– who has been gone since the SBK was originally around plus tells his father he’s going to tell ‘them’ it was him. Also, I think he creeps me out more than the kid does.

Mother– There’s something about her I don’t like, and its not just the manipulative part (I think all the characters are so in a way anyhow)

New suspects

……Cam –well he has been to therapy before but I don’t recall if mentioned for what.  Has a weird ass son (is there a serial Killer gene, and does it run in this family?) Is found in a photo wearing a belt, but he was (or looked) only a teen then.

Zi Approved TV seriesCompelling story and mystery at that, with some clues dropped and maybe others I’ve missed. Have I possibly figured WHO already, with My list of suspects? I mean in the first episode alone I thought the father or Gerret, could I have figured it out before the authorities have?  Great ensemble cast, but not too many, of course each character has a subplot (more or less) but its not hard to follow, that they feed a bit at a time) oh and hey look the mother’s momBinge worthy is the actress from Insidious that played the paranormal investigator~

Whichever way you prefer to watch, weekly or as a binge (of some form) I highly recommend. Aside from Animal Kingdom this is my favorite show of the summer. (but for me neither can still beat Zoo my #1 favorite summer show from last year, but then they are all different types of shows.)

After quite a few Red Herrings, they kept the who and why for the 2 hour season finale, and  It was NONE of my suspects.

Brain Dead

CBS Monday’s 1 hour    Political Thriller/dramedy

I’ve seen a variety of genres throughout this in the premier, so if you are not into all the political speak you may enjoy the underlying mystery.

Now I’m not one for politics at all yet watching a tv show based around it. Frankly all the Republican democrate crap… gives me a head ache (and get a little confused on what each platform stands for, but really don’t care… as I usually have a mix of all including the wings etc) for me, I think politics need to be gone… just get a monarchy going things would (hopefully) be more peaceful as at least we aren’t in the age where ….sorry getting off point,

So as I was say I’m not into Politics let alone in my tv viewing but something in the commercial piqued my interest to watch.

Not sure what it was but I guess there was something that was a bit funny to me, as well as a bit odd, which could be the reason  for my curiosity. In the first 5 minutes, I have no idea what’s going on, its as if you walked into a party late and at full swing and missed the rules of some game being played.

Laurel is a film documentarian working on some sort of project  and getsstuck working in her brother the senator’s (?)office.

Oooh k…. what the hell does a dive for a meteor have to do with politics? Not to mention what looks like a scene from Piranha (a swarm of fish (not sure if that specific) are all lined up looking ready to attack!   I don’t know… the story telling here, seems to be all over the place; at least to me.

There seems like there will be some sci-fi or horror aspects to it as well as there is a video of a man being attacked by something that came out of a container from Russia and was signed by the office Laurel is working in.

I think you could say there’s some dry wit to this as well and WTF? is that ‘Hive’ from Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D., or some whacked out roboants?  Capital building…..oooh K, this show is weird so far. Apparently the drones of the U.S. senate will not just be in the metaphoric sense but I’m thi king those ants are some sort of terrorist plot and each will take over the person to become a literal drone.

“We’re famous; it’s like Hollywood with uglier people”

that line (from Laurel’s brother) gave me a chuckle… because its too true!

Run for the bunker… it’s the attack of the ant people….and with that I think my ant drone theory is correct! at least it adds mystery and something actually interesting instead of a bunch of polticababble.

OH! so THAT’s why the show is called BRAIN DEAD… that part was morbidly funny.

So basically its a weird goofy Political drama with sprinklings of some sci-fi horror and wit to it. oh yeah and Tony Schaloub

I think I’ll give it another couple watches to see if it’s worth my time, but then again I don’t think there’s much on monday’s to watch so I may be stuck with it!

Watch it here via amazon video
