Jacob (cena) Some bro antagonist of movie

A line or 2 in the trailer to me, makes this sound like it might be the last movie.

As usual they always have to show the big jaw dropping stunt and ruin what should be the the surprise when you see it. Thankfully there were other things (mostly funny) that made it not matter.

Atomic Blonde

See the source image2017     R   1:55   action/thriller but really Drama      blu-ray   James McAvoy,  Charlize Theron, John Goodman, Bill Skarsgard

Adapted from the Antony Johnston and Sam Hart graphic novel The Coldest City movie Atomic Blonde stars Charlize Theron and James McAvoy.  Theron’s character is a cold war spy by the name of Lorraine Broughton who must recover a list of double agents amid a sea of questionable allies one in which is James McAvoy’s British agent David Percival. Percival, as you might be able to tell from the trailers, has gone a bit feral with lots of secrets and possibly STDs while embedded in East Berlin.

A MI*6 agent is murdered in 1989 Berlin Germany and fellow spy is sent to investigate and retrieve a list of double agents the dead agent was carrying.

I would swear the fight scenes were a faster pace in the trailers but during the movie, they’re kind of a bore, like the rest of it is. The fight scenes feel like they are over too quick compared to many other films. I know, I know… always leave them wanting more, but not when the fights look as though they are in slow motion and swear you could do them yourself if you had the time to re-watch them to memorize the choreography. To give you an idea for most 1 on 1 fight scenes in movies, let’s say they last 5 minutes-15 minutes. These I’m sure are 1-3 minutes long if even. In other words, for an ‘action movie,’ there’s not much action. It should more have been marketed as a spy drama, as there is NOTHING thrilling about it. If I watched it at night, I would have fallen asleep.

When I checked at some point to see how much longer the movie would be on, thinking it would be 15 minutes left, there was still over an hour of the movie left. I am VERY disappointed in this movie, and so glad I didn’t pay to see it in the theater as for me it looked promising enough to see in the theater. I think a baseball or golf game would have been more entertaining to watch. Also who the actual double agent is… I wasn’t surprised.

The Huntsman: Winter’s War

2016  PG-13  Action, Fantasy  1:54  Chris Hemsworth, Jessica Chastain, Charlize Theron, Emily Blunt

Prequel to Snow White and the Huntsman. Here Ravenna has a sister Freya (yes as in the Norse Goddess) whose grief leads her to unleash her icy powers (queue ‘Let Go Let it snow whatever the name of it is..)

She is feared in her kingdom  where the only rule is Do not love.

“Do Not Love….it’s a sin. Love is a lie, it is a trick played by the cruel on the foolish and the weak. Cast it from your mind never let it render you frail of mind or of will.”

She saves the children from ‘suffering’ and they are trained to become her army. Just one problem, her 2 best warriors fall in love…

Wait if this is a prequel then how the hell is Ravenna in Snow white and the Huntsman when here she is supposed to be dead? did someone make a consistency error; AHHH that’s how!

Whoa! a river of molten gold, why not just throw the ‘mirror’ in that so that it melts.

I swear its a live action version of Frozen and for that alone it gets a            D!

Mad Max: Fury Road

2015  R 2hrs  Blu- Ray

Still rife with motor gangs the desert wastelands inhabited by the road warrior legend Mad Max who encounters a group of fleeing refugees and their leader Furiosa and joins them in their getaway.

That is one F*** awesome guitar! (and concert rig set up) I wonder who did the song for those scenes.

The sandstorm part was cool, but didn’t have the dire (or any) feeling I thought they might have been going for.

What the hell is slanga? Some insult to men? I’ve seen parts of the old movies (still trying to get through a whole one) and those are better than this.

The action is not impressive and of course, as usual all the ‘best’ parts and lines were in the trailer; therefore so played out by the time the movie came out, they died on fury road. Fury Road which obviously means Furiosa, not Max  as it seems the movie is more about the female character than being a Mad Max Movie. The parts where Theron didn’t have her ‘terminator’ arm on, look really weird not sure if its just because i knew he really has an arm or if it was something with the FX.

I hope the last half hour of this demented sort of Steampunk…errr Sandpunk maruding adventure  will make up for the rest of the movie. Ah so that’s what those tall sticks are for, they’re like a crow’s nest. Well I think the ending is making up for at least an hour of the movie and the ‘concert’ is awesome!

They seem to make a toy figurine for everything now, WHY isn’t there one for the scene in the picture above? Hell make a Guitar Hero version of that guitar! Make a cigarette lighter design.

I’m glad I didn’t see this in the theater for me it’s a disappointment, and I didn’t even have any expectations of it other than that my instincts told me the trailer was mostly all I needed to see (which in a way was and wasn’t true) There are parts I don’t think were in any of the trailers.   D+

As for the song not sure if it’s the right one, but Massive attack has a song called ‘teardrops’ in this, otherwise it looks like everything else was composed for a score.  Which is all I find, even though amazon has it listed as a Soundtrack (Soundtrack = music by bands and usually has words… Score usually composed by one person and recorded by an orchestra and has no singing)   you can order one here via Amazon if you liked the music Mad Max: Fury Road – Original Motion Picture Soundtrack

if you don’t want the whole score here’s the search page for individual songs Mad Max Fury Road Music Search

as if that ‘Concert’ rig wasn’t sick enough, there are some seriously sick looking mish mashed vehicles in this as well  check out the images from this bing search
