X-men Apocalypse

The usual suspects Fassbender, Jennifer Lawrence, Nicolas Holt, Even Peters,James McAvoy, Sophie Turner with McGuyver’s Lucas Till (was he in the past ones?)

I don’t have much to say about this, other than we find out how  Charles Xavier becomes bald.

The plotline stinks, why does it seem centered on Mistique to me? Wasn’t crazy about Angel though glad he now has the sharpened wings. And s a few days later I can’t remember much (nothing that matters) about it.

It’s set in the 80s and starts in Ancient Egypt during a transfiguration Ritual (why not just call Professor McGonagal?)

Some ‘Gods’ or shall I say priests with the masks of their gods as well as soldiers around are protecting the body.

One of these soldiers who is supposed to protect what is going on is in on a plan against the ritual, and upon attacking gets folded up into a ball.

Later Charles Xavier’s school is burning down and Quicksilver goes to save everyone, one being a french bulldog which love the face like it’s in a car and its jsut not letting go of that slice of pizza!

Amusing the movie makes fun of it self!! saying the 3rd one always sucks and honestly.. I’m VERY glad I didn’t waste my money on it seeing it in the theater! I waited for cable!  Definitely a poor (below poor?) outing.

and EssexCorp. What is the Essex corp? I never heard of that before or don’t remember .

Honestly I’m not crazy about this set of X-men films… I like the originals better, but then I do need to rewatch those for a Class Cuts installment

Supergirl

While Supergirl was on CBS, the only episode I watched was the Flash crossover. being as I watch Flash I figured it might be a good idea to watch in case something carries over from the Supergirl episode. With this one episode..

To me in the coming attractions and even this one episode I really could not stand the actress that played Supergirl,to me she came off as insecure/self conscious and there was something else I  still can’t quite pinpoint what it is or was, I could barely watch crossover episode, even with Flash in it.  Also I wasn’t crazy about the overall pace and storyline of the cross over.

So maybe others felt the same way as I in one way or another, and so with the show

Now on the CW for season 2, I thought I’d give it a try (well when its posted to the free on demand channel)

I still can’t figure out why CBS had the show in the first place, especially when all the DC comics shows are doing so well on the CW.

before I get to Supergirl herself  I will say I definitely did not like the actor portraying Superman…in this. I do wish ‘Smallville’ would make an appearance in some way ..sorry I should say Tom Welling and anyone else from that show, After all, this is a multi-earth/dimension universe. Well so far no ‘Smallville’ but we get Dean Cain!!!

So far she still comes off as… maybe its not insecurity but awkward to me and that’s WHEN she’s Supergirl. This is even as I finish writing this up in March (of season 2 with the finale likely to air in May). I would think the ‘Awkward’ and anything I didn’t like about a character or actor would have subsided by now. I do in a sense like the actress, she’s cute Kara wise, even when she’s perky and I hate perky but for her it works. There is still a little something there that bothers me when she’s Supergirl. I will also say the show is a lot easier to watch than when it was on  CBS.

Well if I didn’t watch it before or skipped an episode here and there… I’ve been making sure  I watch each week now that the charming Chris Wood (Vampire Diaries, Containment) in blatant CW fashion has yet again recycled (or is it re-purposed) him into another CW show. For him I’ll watch and see how his story arc goes. Plus I’m waiting for more crossovers of the collective shows…

I heard something about a possible musical but I don’t recall if it was flash and supergirl (which sounds really annoying to me) or maybe the crossover (nope… thankfully)… but I think a musical episode would have been better with Arrow (as long as John Barrowman was in it)

I do hope we get a mini movie with all the heroes in one show (one epiosde) at some point…maybe a 2 hour TV movie special. That would work well as a follow up on (or lead up to) a crossover story or the best way is to finish a season, and even better use for a series finale!

Hello @CW @DC do you hear me!!!! I’ve got some ideas for your show(s)!!! Make.It. Happen.!!!!

(Can we make the #ArrowMusical happen?  I saw @Stephen Amell & @JohnBarrowman singing at SDCC   (San Diego Comic Con)…

Definately IMPROVED (and saved)

the CW Invasion ~ Heroes vs Aliens

Based on the 1988 comic book miniseries Invasion! event from Keith Giffen, Bill Mantlo, Todd McFarlane, and Bart Sears, the plot of the story is The Dominators descended on Earth to bring an end to the “threat” of Earth’s burgeoning meta-human community.

So Supergirl kicks the whole thing off, however I don’t think I qualify it as cross over material. We just get what turns out to be a few time holes that pop into this scene or that and at the end (like the last 30 seconds…literally!) Barry and Sisco show up . For me that’s just a Supergirl episode, now if they had popped in half way through and participated more in the epiosde I would consider that a cross over. So as far as her episode goes, I’m not happy with it. If this were still on CBS I would chalk it up to that but sadly for me Barry and Sisco feel like they were just added to the story at the end and of course the time holes too.

I will be re-watching the shows but this one I won’t as I do not recall anything in it having to do with the Aliens (aside from Supergirl herself and Mon-El)

I hope the Flash’s entry into the crossover event will be better.

Here’s my reviews of Captain America : The First Avenger and Winter Soldier

The Short of it…..Political interference puts our heroes at odds and  pits them against one another.

Fearing the past actions of our superheroes (it’s not like they hurt you, they saved your asses you traitors) our government wasn’t to pass a bill for the “Ant-hero registration act” which limits the heroes actions (& therefore likely with the limitations may not actually be able to help you or the world when in need). This leaves the Avengers divided. After his F** up with Ultron, Tony Stark is pro-act…that if it doesn’t happen cities would keep on being destroyed (I don’t see any way that could be avoided when you have an alien invasion going on). Cap with more common sense feels as though the government can’t be relied upon to protect the world. (They can’t protect us all… not with all those protocols, and going through the ranks to send an order by then the earth may no longer exist!)

Originally Foreseen in the 2007  movie I am Legend. I thought it was advertised in the movie as coming out in 2012, or 2014; however upon checking the trivia on IMDB.com for it

In one scene in the deserted street a billboard can be seen with a large Batman and Superman logo superimposed over each other, and the date “5-15-10”. This is an in-joke at the expense of screenwriter Akiva Goldsman. Goldsman did script rewrites for a “Batman Versus Superman” project in 2002. This was just one of the countless attempts to revive the Superman franchise that culminated in the release of Superman Returns(2006). It wouldn’t be until 2016 that Superman and Batman would share the silver screen together in “Batman V Superman: Dawn of Justice.”

Trailer review from the B.A.R.

am I the only one that sees a likeness between the ‘rock monster’ of this and the Destroyer of The first Thor movie?

I mean they are both elements (one earth and the other metal) and they both shoot that crazy blast out of their eyes.

The Review

In a bit of goofyniess.. I thought I’d add this Tom & Jerry Weigh In On Who Wil Win: Batman  being as I LOVE Tom & Jerry and still do (even the new ones are ok but nothing like the fun of the old ones. as many times as I’ve seen the ones I saw as a kid…they still make me laugh.)

to start a friday march 25th night opening of 82 million sounds pretty good… but with the full opening weekend box office being tallied to $166 million not good for a movie well over 200 million to film.  Which mean the headline of this article “Batman v Superman” Surpasses Marvel’s Preview Night Box Office Record has got to be bogus right? The poor dear people that paid that .1 million more just didn’t know better. While if you go on the day your theater has discount day (tuesday here for $7.50) it’s worth seeing in the theater, otherwise the movie while big time decent FX, the storyline just didn’t cut it for me. It didn’t seem to flow well like they just took a jigsaw puzzle of scenes that looked like they best lined up and put them in as close of an order to make sense as possible.
