Welcome to Wayward Pines

For the first time tackling TV  M. Night Shyamalan (who brought you the Sixth Sense)  produces and directs (someone elses work for first time)  this eerie drama about The creepiest town in America.

The 10 episode  show is based on a book Trilogy by Blake Crouch and debuts May 14 at 9pm on Fox . It  stars Matt Dillion, Terrance Howard (Empire), Carla Gugino, Juliette Lewis (from Secrets & Lie who I guess will be ‘Staunking’ me this summer)   and others.

This dark & Stormy looking Psycho thriller mystery, that I read described as  Twin Peaks meets Twilight Zone, which Dillion who plays  Ethan Burke a secret service agent goes looking for 2 of his fellow agents who ae missing. Ethan Burke finds himself in the seemingly serene town of Wayward Pines, Idaho (hey send me some Potatoes!). If you ask me, the name of the place is the clue…’wayward’ – meaning difficult to control or predict because of unusual or perverse behavior (definition from Oxford dictionaries)

The place is basically a Roach Motel.. you can check in, but you can’t phone out or leave the place!

The place seems clean and the people friendly however…that phone call in the trailer who was that is there a mob running the town, or maybe the Sheriff (played by Howard) is crooked.

There’s alot of questions that pile up one in which (in the previews I’ve read) is why is the Nurse trying to keep him on bed rest?  (there were juicier ones, but I didn’t want to ruin anything.

It sounds as though time does not move the same in Wayward as it does to the outside world. The show may get you feeling anxious and amused at the same time. by the fifth epsiode we will  have the answer to the central mystery of the town.

I am personally hoping this will turn out to be another spring/summer favorite like Under the Dome. From what I’ve read, the show will wrap up in the 10 epsiodes but it’s possible to continue beyond this season.

I think I will wait a few epsiodes in (like 3-5) to write my review, till then I hope you tune in and let me know your thoughts on the show.

Ok one more… for some reason I thought I had reblogged some of my posts to my other blogs but I guess something didn’t go right. (EVIL computer) 1 episode has already aired (last week) this is my preview on it and i am working on the review, I thought I might wait for another one or 2 episodes before I publish my review
